Mud Dredging Process in Situ Mangga Bolong Reaches 75 Percent

Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency dredged Situ Mangga Bolong Reservoir, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta to optimize its function as water catchment thus flood can be prevented.

Our target is to complete it in December 2020

Jakarta SDA Agency Head, Juaini Yusuf, conveyed, mud dredging work which began on the last July, has reached 75 percent as of today.

"Since it is silting again, we make it wider. Currently, we just need to clean Situ Mangga Bolong and dispose the silt. We will also make its surrounding area to be used for citizen interaction," he mentioned, Monday (11/23).

He explained, mud sedimentation in Situ Mangga Bolong was quite thick thus dredging should be done optimally as deep as 3 to 5 meters.

"Indeed, we haven't dredged the mud because there are areas that haven't been cleared yet. We plan to pay it this year and continue the work. The payment is not full yet, but almost all have been freed. Our target is to complete it in December 2020," he closed.
